Grammar notes (4)

누가 뭐래도 = whatever anyone says

누가 뭐래도 평범한 건 지루해

-래도 contracts 말하거든도: bundles every outside opinion into one dismissal.

Pattern: nuga mworaedo + [clause]

Example: 누가 뭐래도 (no matter what they say)

-대도 = even if (they) say ~

철이 없대도 재밌으면 That's okay

-대 quotes what others say; 도 concedes it — their judgment just slides off.

Pattern: [stem] + 대도

Example: 늦었다고 해도 (even if told it's late)

-았다저았다 = now this, now that

이랬다저랬다 No rule

The repetition enacts the meaning: constantly switching — the opposite of a fixed rule.

Pattern: [stem] + 았다 저았다

Example: 울었다 웃었다 (cried then laughed)

나다우다 = to be like oneself

나다울 때 누구보다 눈부셔 난

누구보다 is a superlative over everyone — yet the only benchmark is being yourself.

Pattern: [noun] + 보다

Example: 누구보다 (more than anyone)
