Grammar notes (4)

-았으면 좋겠다 = I wish / hope

말해줬으면 좋겠어

-았으면 frames the condition; 좋겠다 turns it into a wish — the speaker can't even ask directly.

Pattern: [stem] + 았으면 좋겠다

Example: 나았으면 좋겠다 (hope you recover)

-다고 말해놓고 = having said ~ (then doing otherwise)

나밖에 없다고 말해놓고 다시 뒤돌아 서고

-놓고 leaves the words hanging in the air while the person walks out — the gap is the betrayal.

Pattern: [stem] + 다고 + verb 놓고

Example: 모른다고 하놓고 (claiming not to know)

-에 갇히다 = be trapped in

너와 난 애매한 사이에 갇혀 있어

갇혀 있다 describes an ongoing state: not a pause — a confinement with no exit in sight.

Pattern: [noun] + 에 갇히다

Example: 과거에 갇히다 (trapped in the past)

-고 = and (chained actions)

나를 끌어당기고 밀어내고 다시 끌어당겨

The three verbs loop — pull, push, pull: the very machinery of an ambiguous relationship.

Pattern: [stem] + 고 + [stem] + 고

Example: 기다리고 기다리다 (wait and wait)
