Grammar notes (4)

-긴 = -기 + 는 (emphatic)

그냥 놓치긴 아쉬워 난

-긴 = contracted -기는: 'missing it? that'd be a shame.'

Pattern: [verb] + 기는 + [adj]

Example: 가긴 갔는데 (I did go, but...) / 맛있긴 맛있어 (it is tasty, sure)

-ㄴ 대로 = as done/felt

느낀 대로 해

-ㄴ 대로 = as experienced: 'say it as you saw it.'

Pattern: [stem] + 은/ㄴ 대로

Example: 들은 대로 전할게 (I'll relay what I heard) / 쓴 대로 읽어 (read it as written)

-고 = and (paired opposites)

밀고 당겨 Doom slap let's countdown

밀고 당기다 = push-pull, figuratively playing hard to get.

Pattern: [verb] + 고 + [opposite verb]

Example: 웃고 울고 반복했어 (laughed and cried on repeat) / 사고 팔고 (buying and selling)

템포 = tempo

너도 왠지 템포가 빨라

템포 (loanword) doubles as heartbeat pace. 왠지 adds sweet confusion.

Pattern: [noun] + fast/slow

Example: 말 템포가 빠른 사람 (a fast talker) / 시간이 빨라 (time flies)
